LTG (ret) Zoltan Szenes and Dr Matt Uttley awarded with BALTDEFCOL Medal of Merit

 

On 1 November the BALTDEFCOL Commandant BG Gundars Abols awarded the BALTDEFCOL Medal of Merit to LTG (ret) Zoltan Szenes and Dr Matt Uttley.

 

Visiting Professors were decorated with the BALTDEFCOL Medal of Merit Silver Class for their outstanding support to the development of the BALTDEFCOL and the sustained and effective contribution to the Higher Command Studies Course.

Colonel Eric Walters has contributed to the BALTDEFCOL’s educational processes as GL since 2009 by addressing the students of the JCGSC on evolution of modern warfare, purpose of military doctrine and on military strategists; and the students of the HCSC on the utility of force. He also contributed to the preparation of the case studies of the center of gravity analysis.

LTG (ret) Zoltan Szenes is former Chief of Defence of Hungary and currently hold the position of professor in Security and Defence Studies of the Zrínyi Miklós National Defence University in Hungary.

Professor Matthew Uttley holds the Chair in Defence Studies at King's College London. He is currently Dean of Academic Studies and Head of the Defence Studies Department at the Joint Services Command and Staff College in Shrivenham, UK.
