NTGTG IT&ED in Warsaw

 

Col PhD. Zdzislaw Sliwa, Operations Department, represented the Baltic Defence College during the Spring 2012 meeting of the NATO Training Group Task Group on Individual Training and Education Developments (NTGTG IT&ED) in Warsaw, Poland from 23 to 26 April 2012. The meeting was hosted by the Akademia Obrony Narodowej / The National Defence University in cooperation with the Departament Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wojskowego MON – The Department of Science and Military Education (MoND).

 

The Meeting was chaired by Dr. Gökay Sürsal, Head of the Education and Training Technologies Section in HQ Supreme Allied Commander Transformation. The NATO Training Group (NTG) Working Group on Individual Training and Education (WG IT & ED) – in the field of Joint Training and Education – was established to initiate and develop co-ordination and standardization of practices in training and education in order to enhance interoperability among Alliance forces, PfP (Partner countries) and potentially Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) countries. It acts as a multinational group for joint training and education experts, responsible for NTG training and education required at the joint level in respective nations.

The general aim of the WG IT & ED activities is to enhance interoperability among partner countries through improved co-ordination and standardization of individual training, and joint training and education. It enables improving the effectiveness and efficiency of individual training applications as well as other practices in joint training and education. The meeting is also an important venue for sharing experiences and is an opportunity for participants to introduce and present new training opportunities.
