This year, CSELC is the official course in BALTDEFCOL academic portfolio. After the three-year long trial period, the course has proved to be in high demand based on its focus and quality. It was confirmed by recognition of BALTDEFCOL as of high quality standards in education and relevance to NATO. Therefore, on 13th July, BALTDEFCOL received the NATO Allied Command of Transformation (ACT) certificate granting the BALTDEFCOL unconditional institutional accreditation status.
The CSELC has grown year by year. This year seventeen nations are represented, and the course has grown up to 24, the largest number we have seen so far. They will be supported by selected CSELC graduates from BALTDEFCOL Framework nations - Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, who will act as Module Coordinators. Moreover, Canada has generously offered its support by providing Senior Mentor capabilities. Chief Warrant Officer Yannick Codbout, a graduate of the CSELC and the CSEL of the Multinational Corps South East, is at the College to share his knowledge and experience.
During the Opening Ceremony, Brigadier General Ilmar Tamm, the Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL, welcomed the students and offered them some hints to be successful during the Course.
The Commandant encouraged students to contribute to debates and share their experiences and knowledge. As always, he emphasized the importance of making personal relations and creating a network that lasts beyond graduation.
“BALTDEFCOL is a small family, so all of you are expected to contribute to preserving the healthy atmosphere,” the Commandant said and continued: “... and the course is small; hence everyone shall act as an Ambassador of your country and defence force. Respect yourself and others”.
BALTDEFCOL family sends a warm welcome to all CSELs, and we wish you a successful and interesting academic journey
