On September 11, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) welcomed the Command Senior Enlisted Leaders Course (CSELC) 2023 students.
The CSELC has grown year by year. This year, eighteen nations are represented, the largest multinational diversity we have seen, and the Course consists of 24 students. They will be supported by selected CSELC graduates from BALTDEFCOL Framework nations - Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, who will act as Module Coordinators. Canada has generously offered its support for five years by providing Senior Mentor capabilities. The Course consists of four modules, including ‘Strategic Leadership’, ‘National Security’ and ‘International Security’, and lasts approximately three months, delivered in a blended approach – online training and resident studies.
During the Opening Ceremony, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis, the Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL, welcomed the students and offered them some hints to be successful during the Course. The Commandant encouraged students to share their experiences and knowledge. He also emphasised the importance of making personal relations and creating a network that lasts beyond graduation.
CSM Alvydas Tamošiūnas, CSM and the course director of CSELC of the BALTDEFCOL, during the morning welcome address to CSELC students, also highlighted the importance of building long-standing operational network between each other with plug-in and play capability, that could be activated and used anytime and in any circumstances.
The BALTDEFCOL family sends a warm welcome to all CSELs, and we wish you a successful and exciting academic journey!
