Opening of Civil Servants Course 2016

On 26th September the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) welcomed the Civil Servants Course (CSC 2016). This year the course is represented by 7 students from the Baltic Countries.

The Commandant of the College, Major General Andis Dilāns, in his opening speech emphasized the uniqueness of BALTDEFCOL with its high quality courses and its multi-national environment. The Commandant also highlighted that this year’s CSC has a new curriculum which better supports learning outcomes.

The CSC is a three month long course that aims to educate creative and active government officials from the Baltic States, as well as their allies and partners. The course encourages students to take an effective and active role in the development and implementation of national security and defence policies through successful civil-military partnership and cooperation at the operational level.

Starting from October, CSC students will be merged with 57 military officers of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2016/2017. This will provide CSC students with the good opportunity to exchange best practices and enhance their understanding of the military and vice versa.

The College wishes our CSC students successful and enjoyable studies!
