Panel session with CHODs of Estonia and Latvia

The office call with the Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL was followed by the panel session with both military leaders of respective nations. The panel was joined by the students of the Higher Command Studies Course, the Joint Command and General Staff Course, and the Faculty.

LTG Herem and LTG Kalniņš provided an overview of national defense concepts highlighting priorities when preparing armed forces to face any threat for national sovereignty. The questions and answers session was focused on the current security situation including cooperation of Baltic countries with Allies and among each other and the development of military capabilities.

The panel discussion, moderated by BALTDEFCOL Senior Mentor Commodore Hans Helseth, proved to be an important constituent of education allowing to face the College education with practical aspect of developing armed forces. It was also an opportunity to meet military leaders possessing up-to-date knowledge about military affairs in broader terms.
