Participation in Warsaw Security Forum 2018

The Warsaw Security Forum 2018 was held between 24th and 25th of October. It was organized by the Casimir Pulaski Foundation. The Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) was represented by Dean dr. hab. Zdzislaw Sliwa who was a panelist in the panel session titled "Defense Track Modernisation of the Russian Armed Forces - an “asymmetric response” or preparations for conflict?".

The Forum was initiated with the welcome speech by Zbigniew Pisarski, President of the Board, Casimir Pulaski Foundation and welcome remarks by Mr. Pawel Soloch, Head of Poland’s National Security Bureau. This year's special guests were LTG (ret.) Ben Hodges, former Commanding General, US Army Europe, Pershing Chair, CEPA and Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former NATO Secretary General, who was recognized with prestigious Knight of Freedom Award.

The Warsaw Security Forum is a leading conference in Central and Eastern Europe related to international security, military affairs, cyber threats, transatlantic cooperation, as well as challenges and opportunities lying ahead not only for Poland, but the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe. The Casimir Pulaski Foundation is an independent think-tank specializing in foreign policy and international security.

The 5th edition of Warsaw Security Forum was organised in cooperation with Poland’s National Security Bureau and under the patronage of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Ministry of Investment and Economic Development of the Republic of Poland. It was also linked with an exhibition by recognized international companies operating in the military industry. The Forum brought together more than 1000 participants from many nations.
