Preparations for the new Academic Year 2018/2019

The Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) staff is back in the offices and starts the new academic year (AY) 2018/2019 with a Faculty Development Programme held from 30th of July to 10th of August. The programme prepares the Faculty for the incoming academic year and helps the new staff members to integrate into the College and the respective departments. It also aims to develop professional knowledge and increase Faculty members’ abilities to deliver adult education. To facilitate all this, the programme will include several presentations, briefs and workshops as well as social events and teambuilding activities.

The Programme kicked off with a Staff Meeting. In his welcome remarks, Major General Andis Dilāns, Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, stated that our main task in the College is to preserve delivery of high-standard education for our students and simultaneously manage the development tasks like reviewing the college structure, adopting and amending basic documents and implementing academic events, our conferences and seminars, as well as to conduct essential research addressing topical issues currently occurring in the world.

The official start of the AY 2018/2019 will take place on the 13th of August with the Opening Ceremony of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2018/2019 when we will have the privilege of greeting 63 new students from 13 countries.

We warmly welcome all the newcomers to BALTDEFCOL family and wish everyone an exciting new academic year.
