Presentation of the book "Readiness of Latvian Healthcare Institutions for Disaster Management"

Presentation of the book "Readiness of Latvian Healthcare Institutions for Disaster Management" by Dr. Romualds Ražuks took place on 22nd of October at the University of Latvia. The book is based on research presenting the status of Latvian medical services toward their readiness to react in case of mass casualties’ situation.

 

The Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) was represented by Dean Dr. hab. Zdzislaw Sliwa and Director of Department of Support Capt. N (ret.) Juris Roze as the College contributed to the publishing of the book. The Dean provided a speech related to the importance of research to improve civilian medical system as a part of broader resilience concept. The book presentation was very successful and it will have an influence on the development of disaster medicine in Latvia.

  

The author of the book Dr. Romualds Ražuks is a former student of BALTDEFCOL's Higher Command Studies Course and a BALTDEFCOL Hall of Fame inductee.
