Senior Leaders’ Engagement ended

Today, the Baltic Defence College’s Senior Leaders’ Engagement, lasting from 2nd-6th November 2015, said farewell to its participants with a lunch hosted in Tartu city centre by the Commandant of the Baltic Defence College, Maj. Gen. Vitalijus Vaikšnoras. During lunch, the Baltic Defence College was delighted to welcome Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia, H.E. Mr. Christopher Holtby OBE, who provided material assistance for the engagement, to provide some farewell remarks relating to future cooperation within the Northern Group of countries, especially in the area of foreign, security and defence policy.

Over the past few days, participants of the engagement have discussed and debated topics such as NATO’s future, strategic leadership, strategic management, mission command and prospects for cooperation within the ‘Wider Baltic’ region. The Baltic Defence College would like to thank all those senior officers and academics who have provided intellectual inspiration for participants.

In all, the Senior Leaders’ Engagement, as a pilot project, has been a resolute success, and the Baltic Defence College looks forward to hosting a similar event in 2016.
