Sr Col Chen Wei and Gen Ants Laaneots delivered lectures to the HCSC
Friday 07 Oct was a day full of experienced expertise and knowledge for the Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC). Before lunchtime the students had the honour to listen to a lecture by the Chinese Defence Attaché in Riga, Sr Col Chen Wei. This was the first time for the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) to have a representative of the People’s Republic of China giving a lecture to the BALTDEFCOL students. Therefore, Sr Col Wei also had some discussions and conversations with BALTDEFCOL Directing Staff members on how to improve the cooperation in future. The lecture on the topic China’s National Defence Policy and the Development of its Armed Forces was of great interest to the entire audience.
Another distinguished visitor at BALTDEFCOL on the same day was the Chief of Defence of Estonian Defence Forces, Gen Ants Laaneots. His lecture to the HCSC students was about Defence development in Estonia and, in addition to the students, many staff members had also gathered to listen to the lecture. The General also had a meeting with the Commandant of BALTDEFCOL to discuss topics actual in the College and in Estonia.
