U.S. Ambassador, Mr Michael C. Polt, visits BALTDEFCOL

 

On 3 April 2012, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted the visit of the U.S. Ambassador, Michael C. Polt.

 

The Ambassador was sworn in as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia on November 30, 2009. On multiple occasions, he has been the recipient of the Presidential Meritorious Service Award and numerous Department of State Meritorious and Superior Honor Awards for Outstanding Policy Leadership, Management, Crisis Performance, and Political Analysis. Ambassador Polt has also been awarded the Thomas Jefferson Award for Service to U.S. Citizens Overseas by American Citizens Abroad.

During the visit, the Ambassador conducted an office call and commended BrigGen Meelis Kiili for his efforts in advancing professional military education as Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL. Additionally, the Ambassador held a working luncheon with members of the Civil Servants Course (CSC) and took the opportunity to share his perspectives on civil-military relations.
