On the 4th of May 2022, a delegation of the Natolin Campus of the College of Europe staff and students visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) as part of their study trip to the Baltic Region. The delegation was headed by Vice-Rector of the College of Europe in Natolin Dr Ewa Ośniecka-Tamecka, joined by former BALTDEFCOL faculty member Dr Andriy Tyushka.

The guests were welcomed by the Director of the Department of Political and Strategic Studies, Dr Asta Maskaliunaite. The programme of the visit included a presentation on the College and discussions with BALTDEFCOL Department of Political and Strategic Studies Faculty members.

The overarching theme of the study visit is “Back to the future: Russia's war in Ukraine” and all the spectrum of security threats in Europe.

The College of Europe was the world’s first university institute of postgraduate studies and training in European affairs. In 1949, the first campus of the College of Europe was established in the city of Bruges, Belgium. After the fall of communism, and in the wake of the changes in Central and Eastern Europe, the College of Europe campus at Natolin (Warsaw, Poland) was founded in 1992 with the support of the European Commission and the Polish government. The College now operates as “One College – Two Campuses”.
