On 5th September, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a delegation of Austrian General Staff Course. The Austrian delegation was accompanied by COL Ronald Rainer, the Defence Attaché of Austria accredited to Estonia.
Our guests were welcomed by the Deputy Commandant/ Chief of Staff COL Dietmar Hartung and Faculty Members of the Department of Political and Strategic Studies. During the visit, the Austrian delegation received a briefing on BALTDEFCOL's vision, mission, tasks and education activities. It was followed by a discussion on Baltic States Security Environment.
The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss bilateral cooperation between the College and Austrian institutions. The Commandant Brigadier General Ilmar Tamm and Defence Attaché Colonel Ronald Rainer discussed Austrian contribution possibilities to the College courses and further cooperation at an academic level.
