On the 9th of March, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted students and colleagues from the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD). ESD is a not-for-profit educational institution that provides high-quality training to talented people from Estonia and around the world in the fields of diplomatic practice, European integration, international relations, and public administration. The BALTDEFCOL has established a good working relationship with ESD through the exchange of lecturers and experts and ESD students volunteering at the annual Conference on Russia.
The ESD delegation received a brief overview of BALTDEFCOL's mission and vision, tasks, and role as a Professional Military Education institution. BALTDEFCOL faculty members AMB Shota Gvineria and Mr. George Spencer Terry provided an overview of the current security environment and discussed their perception by ESD students who are studying such themes within educational programs.
This is the second visit of the ESD to the BALTDEFCOL here in Tartu. The visit underlines the importance of collaboration and cooperation between security and diplomacy.
