Visit by Ambassador of the US to Estonia, H.E. Mr. James D. Melville, Jr.

Today, on 16th November 2017, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a working visit of the Ambassador of the U.S. to Estonia, H.E. Mr. James D. Melville, Jr.

The Ambassador was welcomed by the Deputy Commandant/ Chief of Staff Colonel Jean Trudel accompanied by the US Senior National Representative and Director of the Joint Command and General Staff Course Colonel Mark Hollis.

Visit started with an office call during which the Deputy Commandant noted the strong engagement by the U.S. towards the College by consistently deploying high calibre staff and students. He also updated the Ambassador on College efforts towards achieving NATO institutional accreditation. The Ambassador reiterated the U.S. commitment to successful cooperation.

It was followed by a lecture on “What a Military Members need to do to be successful supporting Diplomatic Efforts; and Lessons Learned from being the Ambassador to EST” to BALTDEFCOL Faculty and students of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2017/2018 and Civil Servants’ Course 2017.
