Visit by Chief of Defence of the Norwegian Defence Forces

Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) was honoured by the visit of the Chief of Defence of the Norwegian Defence Forces Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen  on 7 October.

The delegation of the Norwegian Defence Forces consisting of Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen, Chief of Defence, Colonel Laila Kvammen Lie, Defence Attaché to Estonia, Lieutenant Colonel Jan Østbø, Military Assistant was welcomed by COL Remigijus Baltrenas, Course Director of the Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) and Civil Servants Course.  COL Baltrenas briefed  Norwegian CHOD about Baltic Defence College courses and activities.  COL Igors Rajevs, Course Director of the Higher Command Studies Course and COL Jan-Erik Mikkelsen, Director of Department of Operations and Director of Department of Leadership participated at the meeting as well.  

The programme at the College continued with Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen’s lecture on “Current Strategic Environment in the Region- Strategic Leadership Challenges” to JCGSC.

Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen was in BALTDEFCOL in the framework of a working visit to Estonia.
