Visit by Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence

On 10th of October the Baltic Defence College hosted a visit of representatives of the Civil-Military Cooperation Centre of Excellence (CCOE).

The Commandant of the Baltic Defence College Major General Andis Dilāns had a meeting with the Director of CCOE Colonel (GS) Wolfgang Paulik during which discussion on the Baltic NATO CIMIC Initiative 2016 as well as assurance assistance of the NATO partners in Civil-Military Cooperation in respect to key partners in collective defence in all three countries, was held.

The COE has already supported BALTDEFCOL by delivering lectures within their area of expertise. The discussion about role and focus of CIMIC education in the BALTDEFCOL courses curricula was discussed to enhance effectiveness. The two organizations agreed to search for options to increase cooperation especially in the field of CIMIC education, as well as to consider staff members exchange to increase knowledge about the subject.

The CIMIC COE, located in Hague, Netherlands, is a multinational sponsored, NATO accredited organization providing value, innovative and timely advice, and subject matter expertise on Civil-Military Cooperation for both civilian and military customers.
