Visit by Commandant of Canadian Forces College

 

The Commandant of the Canadian Forces College BG Craig Hilton visited the BALTDEFCOL on 29 March.

 

BG Craig Hilton accompanied by LTC Daniel Lortie, current staff member of the Canadian Forces College and former BALTDEFCOL Instructor NATO Land/Joint OPS, had a meeting with the BALTDEFCOL Commandant BG Gundars Abols and BALTDEFCOL Management Group consisting of Dean Dr James S. Corum, and Acting Course Director of JCGSC 2009/2010 LTC (ret) Ronald LaGrone. The Canadian delegation was briefed on the BALTDEFCOL and its courses with emphasize on the JCGSC and its accreditation possibilities.

 

Afterwards meeting with Head of Operations Department Col Kristian Ekroll, Head of Defence Management and Officership Department LTC Mika Juha Kerttunen, and Head of Department of Political and Strategic Studies Mr Ilias Iliopoulos, where the BALTDEFCOL representatives made brief introductions of their respective departments, was held. The program included also a meeting with the Canadian student attending the JCGSC 2009/2010 LTC Paul Fuller.

 

The program ended with an observation of the JCGSC 2009/2010 CJTF Ops Planning Exercise 2 held on 22 March till 1 April.
