Visit by delegation of Finnish Defence Forces
The Baltic Defence College was honoured by the visit of the delegation of the Finnish Defence Forces on 30 September.
The delegation of the Finnish Defence Forces consisting of Deputy Chief of Staff LTG Sakari Honkamaa, Chief of Training and Education COL Hannu Hyppönen, Finnish Defence Attachee to Estonia CDR Jussi Voutilainen and SO J7 LCDR Markku Laine was welcomed by the College Commandant MG Vitalijus Vaikšnoras. MG V. Vaikšnoras had an office call with LTG Sakari Honkamaa where he expressed his gratitude for the visit, support and cooperation.
The programme at the College continued with thorough briefings on BALTDEFCOL activities and courses presented by the Deputy Commandant/Chief of Staff COL Axel Pfaffenroth and by the Director of the Joint Command and General Staff Course COL Remigijus Baltrėnas. Director of Support LTC Mart Mikkelsaar participated at the meeting as well. Presentations were followed by active discussion from the perspective of international defence education and possible future common projects and engagements.
The Finnish Defence Forces visit concluded with a tour of the College building.
