On 05th-06th December, Delegation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The main purpose of the visit was to examine potential areas of cooperation between the Ukrainian General Staff and the BALTDEFCOL.
College faculty and the Ukrainian guests shared opinions, discussed aspects of National Defense Planning System in NATO, the role of defense planning to support the National Operational Planning Process, bilateral visits of instructors etc.
The Ukrainian delegation then explained their recent experience in antiterrorist operations in the Eastern part of Ukraine, lessons learned and observations related to the recent Russian Federation exercises “Zapad-2017” and their experience on NATO – led operations
The topics presented by the Ukrainian delegation aroused the great interest of the BALTDEFCOL faculty and students of Joint Command and General Staff Course, and added valuable real world flavour to the past 3 months academic study.
