Visit by H.E. Mr Dagfinn Sørli, Norwegian Ambassador to Estonia
Today, on January 29, 2016 the Norwegian Ambassador to Estonia, H.E. Mr Dagfinn Sørli together with Ms Ellen Aabø, Deputy Head of Mission in the Royal Norwegian Embassy, paid a visit to the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The Ambassador and his company were welcomed by Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, the Commandant of Baltic Defence College and Colonel Ørjan Pettersen, the Norwegian SNR (senior national representative) at the college.
During his visit to the Baltic Defence College, H.E. Mr Dagfinn Sørli was given a thorough presentation on the College’s history, its vision, mission, strategic goals and main lines of effort as well as previous cooperation between the college and Norway. Since the establishment of BALTDEFCOL, Norway, among several other participating nations, has provided the college with valuable support, and has become a highly appreciated partner in many aspects. It was emphasized that BALTDEFCOL’s desire is to continue the fruitful cooperation with Norwegian Armed Forces, the Norwegian Defence University College in particular, and seek for opportunities of mutual benefit to develop the partnership even further.
The Royal Norwegian embassy in Tallinn is one of 425 Norwegian diplomatic and consular representations abroad and the only Norwegian representation in Estonia. H.E. Mr Dagfinn Sørli took the office as the Ambassador of Norway to Estonia in September 2014. Today’s visit was Ambassador’s second time to visit the Baltic Defence College. The first time we had the honour to welcome him was during the Graduation Ceremony of the Higher Command Studies Course, the Joint Command and General Staff Course, and the Civil Servants Course on 2015.
