On 8th of November 2018, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour to host Lieutenant General Sławomir Wojciechowski (PhD), Commander of Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE) as part of his official visit to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
After being welcomed by the College Management Group members, LTG Wojciechowski had an office call with Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Major General Andis Dilāns. The two leaders discussed areas of future cooperation and regional security aspects. This includes observing, supporting and participating in upcoming conferences, seminars as well as exercises organised and conducted by both parties.
The visit then continued with a presentation on BALTDEFCOL’s mission, vision, academic activities, ongoing developments and upcoming major milestones followed by focused discussions. LTG Wojciechowski also had an opportunity to visit Joint Command and General Staff Course students who are conducting the Exercise “Joint Planner 18” within Operational Level Planning module. When visiting JOPGs, the Commander of MNC NE exchanged his experiences related to operational level planning and execution of operations highlighting the importance of that kind of education in meeting future challenges for respective nations as part of the Alliance.
