On 22nd of May, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour to host Lieutenant General Tim Radford, Commander of Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC). The aim of the visit was to strengthen cooperation with the College and to contribute to the education of BALTDEFCOL students.
LTG Radford had an office call with Major General Andis Dilāns, Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, during which the two leaders discussed new opportunities and fields for cooperation. Afterwards, LTG Radford delivered a lecture “ARRC recalibration project and the corps warfighting role” to the students of Higher Command Studies Course 2019. The General explained the complexity of processes related to the transformation of the corps and the role of the commander. Next, he presented his personal experience of being a commanding officer placing an accent on working relations and command climate inside any headquarters as key to achieving synergy of efforts. It was followed by a lively discussion as the topics proved to be interesting for students, especially considering their future positons.
In the afternoon, LTG Radford was briefed about the latest developments and academic activities of the College. He expressed great interest in the upcoming courses.
