On 4th of April, LTC Pål Straete from the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT) visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL).
The visit was focused on the recognition of possible areas of mutual interest and cooperation between the two institutions, as both are professional military education organizations.
LTC Straete informed the College faculty about SWEDINT, ongoing courses and the considerations to extend network of similar educational organizations in the region and beyond. Similarly, LTC Straete was given an overview of the BALTDEFCOL and its major educational activities, including different courses, modules, exercises and international study trips. The visit has proved to be an effective forum for understanding both organizations’ priorities, focus of education and development intentions.
The Swedish Armed Forces International Centre is preparing military and civilian personnel from armed forces, police and civilian organizations for national missions in international Pace Support Operations. It is closely cooperating with other nations in the region within Nordic Defence Cooperation (NORDEFCO) and it is possessing extensive cooperation with other international military and civilian organizations.
