On 2nd of May 2019, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted Major General Flemming Mathiasen, Commander of the newly established Headquarters Multinational Division North (HQ MND N).

After the welcome address by College leadership, Major General Andis Dilāns, Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, gave a briefing on College’s mission, tasks and academic activities. The visit served as a good opportunity to mutually acknowledge the strategic perspectives and working methods of both institutions. The two Commandants discussed areas of possible future cooperation. The visit concluded with a tour of the College.

Headquarters Multinational Division North was inaugurated on 8th of March 2019. The purpose of HQ MND N is to enhance the defence capability of the region and connect the region’s forces with the Alliance’s highest Command Structure.
