Visit by Major General Oliver Kohl, Commandant of Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr

On 11th of December 2018, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a visit by Major General Oliver Kohl, Commandant of Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr (Bundeswehr Command and Staff College). The main purpose of the visit was to provide a general overview of the historical background, mission and academic activities of the College. In particular, MG Kohl learned about the various courses and related activities conducted at the BALTDEFCOL.

After the welcome address by Major General Andis Dilāns, Commandant of BALTDEFCOL and members of the College Management Group, the visit continued with an office call. It was followed by an explanatory briefing on College’s mission and tasks, putting an accent on education and research as domains of common interest, including sharing of experiences and exchange of information toward best practices. The visit also provided a good opportunity to mutually acknowledge the strategic educational perspectives of both institutions, and to discuss the possibilities of future cooperation.

 

The meeting presented new opportunities for extending cooperation within military education and sharing knowledge possessed by the faculty of the BALTDEFCOL and Bundeswehr Command and Staff College.
