Visit by Major General Vasile Toader, Romanian Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Operations and Training 

On 7th of March 2019, Major General Vasile Toader, Romanian Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Operations and Training, paid a visit to the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). MG Toader was accompanied by H.E. Mrs Daniela Mihaela Cămărăsan, Ambassador of Romania to Republic of Estonia and Colonel Gheorghe Dragos Florea, Romanian Defence, Military, Air and Naval Attaché to the Republic of Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The Romanian delegation is currently participating in the annual Conference on Russia and used this opportunity to meet Major General Andis Dilāns, Commandant of BALTDEFCOL and to gain a better overview of the historical background, mission and academic activities of the College. The meeting was based on the recognition of the importance of professional military education in facing threats related to security that is in line with the topic of this year’s conference. During the meeting, ways of maintaining the relationship and improving the cooperation were discussed. Special attention was paid to developing the future leaders who need to adapt to the new security environment challenges.
