Today, on 4th March, the Baltic Defence College had the honour to host a visit by Major General Sergeii Salkutsan, the Deputy Commandant of the National Defence University of Ukraine. The Commandant of BALTDEFCOL Major General Andis Dilāns and the Dean, Col (ret) Zdzislaw Sliwa welcomed the guest.
The visit aimed to operationalize areas of cooperation between the two institutions and exchange experiences and best practices in the domain of Professional Military Education. MG Salkutsan received a briefing on BALTDEFCOL’s history, mission, current activities and future developments. Afterwards, the two institutions exchanged experiences in the field of education and discussed possible opportunities for future cooperation and sharing the best practices in the development of future military and civilian leaders. Both leaders recognized a few fields related to the exchange of faculty and support for developing curricula.
During their visit, MG Salkutsan also attended the Baltic Defence College’s Sixth Annual Conference on Russia: “Russia in the World: Vision and Realities”. He was one of the conference speakers on Night Owl Session: Russia’s Interests, Agenda and Limitations in the ‘Big Power Game’.
