On 18th February, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour to host Mr Damon Wilson, Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council. High level guest was welcomed by the Commandant, Major General Andis Dilans, Deputy Commandant/ Chief of Staff, Colonel Jean Trudel and Director of Joint Command and General Staff Course, Colonel Ilmar Tamm.
During the visit, Mr Wilson was shortly briefed on BALTDEFCOL’s core mission and tasks. After the briefing session faculty, students of all courses and external participants had a wonderful opportunity to listen to Mr Wilson’s lecture “Three Seas Initiative”. It was followed by active questions and answers related to his expertise.
The Three Seas Initiative is a flexible political platform, at Presidential level, launched in 2015. The Initiative includes the 12 European Union Member States located between the Adriatic, the Baltic and the Black Seas: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
