On 17th of May, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a visit of the representatives of the Multinational Corps Northeast (MNC NE), LTC Marek Skrobicki and LTC Sven Andersen. The guests were welcomed by Director of the Senior Leaders' Course and Higher Command Studies Course COL Albertas Dapkus, Dean Dr. hab. Zdzislaw Sliwa and LTC Linas Pakutka from the Department of Military Studies. The visit is an outcome of the long-term cooperation between the two organizations and it was aimed to extend future cooperation in the fields which are of core interest for both organisations.
The visit started with a presentation on BALTDEFCOL’s history, vision and mission, academic activities and ongoing and future developments. The brief presented major academic undertakings related to the operational level education of the major BALTDEFCOL’s courses. A briefing on MNC NE followed, focusing especially on the Corps’ mission, current involvement in regional security and possible fields of cooperation with the College.
Afterwards, further mutual assistance between the two institutions within the domains of Professional Military Education and academic research was discussed. The topics included participation in exercises, staff exchanges, conferences and seminars and joint support in organizing such major civil-military undertakings.
