Visit by the LTG Jan Broeks, Director General of the NATO International Military Staff

Today, on 12th April 2017, Lieutenant General Jan Broeks, Director General of the NATO International Military Staff paid a visit to the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). He was accompanied by GpCPT Anthony McCord and MAJ Siebren Wolf, ADC. LTG Broeks was welcomed by the Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL, Major General Andis Dilāns, and members of the College Management Group.

The visit started with a tour led by CSM Peeter Einbaum to introduce the BALTDEFCOL’s facilities, including the Hall of Fame, syndicate rooms, lecture halls and the library.

After the tour, LTG Broeks had an office call with MG Dilans followed by a briefing covering an overview of the College history, mission, courses, research activities and future development.

Visit ended with a lecture by LTG Broeks on ‘Current development with the security domain in NATO in the context of conventional and non-military threats’ to the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2016-2017, the Higher Command Studies Course 2017 and BALTDEFCOL Faculty.
