On 9th March 2017, BALTDEFCOL was honoured by the visit of Major General Linda Singh, Adjutant General of the Maryland National Guard (MDNG). The entourage consisted of CSM Thomas Beyard, MDNG Senior Enlisted Leader, MAJ Asa C. Coates, Aide de Camp and MAJ Joe Winter, Director, State Partnership Program. They were accompanied by the members of the Office of Defence Cooperation MAJ Jason W. Burns, Bilateral Affairs Officer, CPT Strikovski and Mrs Piret Ploompuu and by the members of the Estonian Defence League (EDL) delegation BG Meelis Kiili, Commander of EDL, COL Kajari Klettenberg, Estonian Defence Attaché to the US, CSM Peeter Land, MA to Commander of EDL, SGT Rasmus Lahtvee, CIMIC expert of EDL and Mrs Anu Kütt.
The delegations were welcomed by Major General Andis Dilāns, the Commandant and the members of the BALTDEFCOL Management Group. The visit started with a briefing providing an overview of the College history, mission, courses and research activities. It was followed by covering areas and focus of international cooperation including continuous US support for the College. During follow-on discussion, feasible areas of future cooperation and US assistance for the College education were under considerations.
The visit ended with a tour led by CSM Peeter Einbaum to introduce the BALTDEFCOL’s facilities, including the Hall of Fame, syndicate rooms, lecture halls and the library.
