Visit by the Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps

On 19th September, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) was honoured by the visit of Lieutenant General Tim Radford CB DSO OBE, Commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) and his staff members. The high level guests were welcomed by the BALTDEFCOL Deputy Commandant/ Chief of Staff Colonel Jean Trudel and the members of College Management Group.

      

During the visit, Lt Gen Radford was briefed about the College mission, vision, courses and research activities. The COMARRC expressed his willingness to support BALTDEFCOL’s education and to cooperate further as investment into regional security and capability building.

      

Lt Gen Radford conducted an interesting presentation on 'The ARRC – Corps Operations and Land Componency’ to the faculty members and students of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2017/2018 and Civil Servants’ Course 2017. He highlighted the importance of command and control during operations as of requirement of unity of effort within joint environment to achieve desired end state. He shared his experiences coming from the variety of national and international assignments as commanding and staff officer emphasizing the importance of comprehensive effort as only working this way is allowing success in a current security environment.
