On 31st of May 2017 the Baltic Defence College hosted a visit by distinguished students and faculty members of the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) as part of their overseas Study Tour 2017. The delegation was headed by Mr. Jeremy Jarvis and accompanied by the British Defence Attaché to the Baltic states, Commander Gary Brooks.
The visitors were welcome by the Deputy Commandant and Chief of Staff, Colonel Axel Pfaffenroth, followed by a tour of BALTDEFCOL´s premises led by the College Sergeant Major, Peeter Einbaum.
The visit continued with a an overview briefing of the College´s history, mission, courses and research activities. Subsequently, BALTDEFCOL faculty members Mr. James Rogers, Director of Political and Strategic Studies Department, Dr. Viljar Veebel, Fellow on Russian Strategic and Military Studies and Mr. Hannes Möllits, Lecturer on International Relations conducted a presentation and Q/A session with the visiting students on the topic “The ‘Wider Baltic’ region: Challenges and Opportunities”. The visitors expressed their appreciation of the opportunity to visit BALTDEFCOL and their desire to continue the close cooperation.
