Visit by the President of the Republic of Latvia (2007–2011) H.E. Mr. Valdis Zatlers and the Latvian Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Mr. Juris Bone

On 11th April 2017 the Baltic Defence College (BALTDFCOL) had the honour to welcome the President of the Republic of Latvia (2007–2011) H.E. Mr Valdis Zatlers accompanied by Latvian Ambassador to Estonia H.E. Juris Bone. The high level guests were welcomed by the Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL, Major General Andis Dilāns accompanied by Colonel Axel Pfaffenroth, Chief of Staff and members of the College Management Group.

The visit started with a briefing providing an overview of the College history, vision and mission, courses and research activities. It included discussion about the role of the College as regional academic organization and its future development.

    

After the briefing, the President delivered a lecture to the students of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2016-2017, Higher Command Studies Course 2017 and BALTDEFCOL Faculty. 

Visit ended with the meeting with Latvian society in Tartu.
