On Thursday, 24 April 2003, Presidents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania paid a visit to the Baltic Defence College. Presidents Arnold Rüütel, Vaira Vike-Freiberga and Rolandas Paksas were welcomed by the Commandant, Brigadier General Michael Clemmesen and the Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian students and staff members.

The Commandant briefed the guests about the College and its activities with the special emphasis on the Baltification. During a short tour of the building the guests were fascinated to see President Rüütel's old office - the present College Library - where he used to work when he was the Rector of the Estonian Agricultural University.
