Visit by the Rector of the Finnish National Defence University, Rear Admiral Veijo Taipalus
On Wednesday, November 25, 2015, the Rector of Finnish National Defence University (FNDU), Rear Admiral Veijo Taipalus; Finnish Defence Attaché to Estonia, Commander Jussi Voutilainen and Lieutenant Colonel Mika Piiroinen paid a visit to the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL).
The busy schedule of the Finnish delegation included office call with the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, MG Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, and a meeting. During the meeting with the college management, the guest were familiarised with the college’s mission, current activities, main lines of effort and development plans. This was followed by a tour of the premises and a working lunch with selected members of the college’s management group.
Finland, among several other participating nations, has provided the college with valuable support, and has become a highly appreciated partner in many aspects. The management of the college believes that an intensive cooperation between the BALTDEFCOL and FNDU is of mutual interest to both organisations. The reciprocal visits are a visible indication of well-established and successful cooperation. The Baltic Defence College appreciates the support the Finnish Defence Forces has given to the college. BALTDEFCOL’s desire is to continue the fruitful cooperation with the Finnish Defence Forces and to seek for opportunities of mutual benefit to develop the partnership even further.
