The Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a visit by a high-level delegation from the Swedish Defence University (SEDU) Board today.

The SEDU delegation was composed of key academic and military leadership: Professor Robert Egnell, Vice-Chancellor, Major General Jonny Linfors, Chief of the Swedish Army, and 21 members of the Governing Board.

The Swedish delegation was welcomed by the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis.

The core of the programme was dedicated to briefings on regional security and cooperation. The SEDU Board received a briefing session from BALTDEFCOL Faculty members focused on the security situation in the Baltic Sea Region.

The academic programme was followed by discussions that underscored the mutual commitment to deepening professional and educational ties. These discussions particularly focused on further collaboration in education and research between the Swedish Defence University and BALTDEFCOL.
