Visit from Estonian School of Diplomacy

On the 8th of April, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) was happy to host again the students and colleagues from the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD). The diverse ESD delegation received a brief overview of BALTDEFCOL's mission and vision, tasks, and role as a Professional Military Education institution, delivered by the Dean of BALTDEFCOL Zdzislaw Sliwa.

BALTDEFCOL faculty members provided briefs on a variety of topics. AMB Shota Gvineria concentrated on the consequences of the war in Ukraine in the region and in general for contemporary security architecture. Dr Viljar Veebel discussed Russian nonlinear warfare in the Baltic states. LTC Karl Salum summed up the visit and provided insights on the implications that war in Ukraine has thus far had for militaries and societies.

The BALTDEFCOL enjoys a good working relationship with ESD through the exchange of lecturers and experts and student visits, underscoring the connections of hard security and diplomacy.

ESD is a not-for-profit educational institution that provides high-quality training to talented people from Estonia and around the world in the fields of diplomatic practice, European integration, international relations, and public administration.
