Today, GEN Martin Herem, Commander of Estonian Defence Forces, LTG Leonīds Kalniņš, Commander of Latvian National Armed Forces, and BG Modestas Petráuskas, Commander of Lithuanian Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), visited Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL).
The delegation of military leaders was welcomed at the BALTDEFCOL City Hub, where a roundtable was held with the Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC) students. GEN Herem, LTG Kalniņš and BG Petráuskas provided an overview of national defence concepts highlighting priorities when preparing armed forces to face any threat to national sovereignty.
The questions and answers session focused on the current security situation, including the cooperation of Baltic countries with Allies and among each other and the development of military capabilities.
GEN Herem, LTG Kalniņš and BG Petráuskas also met with their national contingents during this visit. It was an excellent opportunity to meet military leaders who possess up-to-date knowledge about military affairs in broader terms.
