Visit to the International Centre for Defence and Security and the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence 

On the 22th of November 2017, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) Faculty visited the International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) and the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCD CoE) with the aim of enhancing and promoting the already successful cooperation, exchanging newest developments and outlining actions to be taken in future, especially for exploiting momentum, whilst the College is steering towards NATO accreditation.

During the visit to ICDS along with the introduction of new members at the leadership and management level in both institutions, teams updated each other on the current status and upcoming activities and projects. It was agreed to continue exploring the exchange of experts for academic and research purposes, to find ways of utilizing research publications for the benefit of both institutions and to strengthen the cooperation in terms of the organization of conferences.

Similarly, the visit to the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCD CoE) started with the introduction of new leadership and continued with the exchange of information about major activities of BALTDEFCOL and NATO CCD CoE. When discussing the ongoing and future cooperation, much attention was paid to implementing cyber as an operational domain into education and considering this expertise as a certifiable course by NATO.
