Insights from Distinguished Panels: Strengthening Partnerships through Military Leadership Development

International military cooperation relies heavily on leadership development, shared expertise, and cross-border collaboration. Two recent panels at the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) Command Senior Enlisted Leaders' Course (CSELC) 2024 brought together experienced senior enlisted leaders, highlighting the importance of professional growth and international military relationships.

The first panel featured Command Senior Enlisted Leaders (CSELs) from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania:

  • EST CSM Enn Adoson (Estonia)

  • LVA CSM Edgars Joksts (Latvia)

  • LTU CSM Darius Masiulis (Lithuania)

These leaders shared their perspectives on leadership, training, and regional security cooperation.

The second panel featured Ukrainian leaders:

  • UKR CSM Oleksandr Kosynskyi (Army)

  • UKR AF CSM Konstiantyn Stanislavchuk (Air Force)

  • UKR NAVY MCPO Pavlo Ruchka (Navy)

These leaders offered insights into leadership during times of conflict, underscoring the value of resilience and adaptive leadership. They visited BALTDEFCOL college, where I provided a briefing on our curriculum and courses, facilitating a deeper discussion on leadership development. Their visit highlighted the importance of cross-national military training and the critical role of NCOs in maintaining operational effectiveness.

Both panels underscored the importance of international cooperation in developing military leaders capable of operating alongside global partners. These discussions foster shared learning, mutual support, and enhanced leadership capabilities, which are essential in responding to modern security challenges.
