Today, the President of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj, conducted a significant diplomatic visit to Tartu, Estonia. During his visit, the President was warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Tartu, Mr Urmas Klaas. As part of the diplomatic engagement, Mayor Klaas introduced President Begaj to key institutions in Tartu, highlighting the city’s most prominent organizations and its role as a hub for education, research, and innovation.
His visit included a stop at the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL), a key institution for Professional Military Education (PME) in the Baltic region. The Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis, and his delegation welcomed President Begaj and introduced him to the college's role in military education and regional security.
Such visits emphasize the cooperation between Albania and the Baltic states, particularly in the field of military training and defence. They also highlight the importance of shared security goals among NATO member states.
