Opening of the Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) 2024/2025 and Civil Servants' Course (CSC) 2024/2025


On 12 August 2024, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) proudly marked the commencement of two of its cornerstone programs: the Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) 2024/2025 and the Civil Servants' Course (CSC) 2024/2025.

This day is not just the beginning of another academic year but a testament to the enduring commitment of BALTDEFCOL to the professional development of military officers and civil servants from across the region and beyond.

Since its establishment, BALTDEFCOL has fostered strategic and operational leadership, preparing military and civilian leaders for the complexities of modern defence and security environments. The JCGSC and CSC have become synonymous with excellence, offering participants a robust curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with practical application. As the 2024/2025 courses begin, BALTDEFCOL reaffirms its dedication to equipping the next generation of leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the challenges of an increasingly complex security environment. The college remains committed to adapting its programs to meet the evolving needs of its students, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to contribute effectively to their respective nations and organizations.

This year, the college welcomes a diverse and talented 80 students from 15 nations. These participants will embark on an intensive journey, engaging in rigorous academic study, collaborative exercises, and hands-on leadership training.

The opening ceremony featured a keynote address from the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis. 
Education is our priority number one. The Baltic Defence College has been given NATO ACT Accreditation and is granted NATO Accredited Education and Training Facility status.

Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis also emphasized multiculturalism at the BALTDEFCOL. 

The uniqueness of BALTDEFCOL is reflected in its multicultural identity, represented by BALTDEFCOL staff and students. Multiculturality is accompanied by the English language as a working language.
