President of Centre for Higher Defence Studies Visits Baltic Defence College


On November 14, the President of the Centre for Higher Defence Studies (CHDS),  LTG Stefano Mannino, visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL), marking an important engagement with one of the region’s leading professional military education institutions.

The visit began with an official Office Call with the Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, BG Alvydas Šiuparis, where they discussed strategic perspectives on defence and security. This high-level meeting provided an opportunity to review current developments in military education and share insights on addressing today’s complex security environment.

Following the Office Call, the CHDS President met with Italian students enrolled in the Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) for the 2024–2025 academic year. This interaction allowed students to hear directly from a senior leader in defence studies, enriching their academic experience and adding valuable context to their studies. The visit highlighted the shared commitment to advancing professional military education and preparing future leaders to address the dynamic challenges in defence and security.
